UDISC INSTRUCTIONS:
Check-In And Keep Score
UDisc powers live scoring for Leagues. Unlike "regular" UDisc scorecards, everyone in your group can view or keep score from their own phones, and everyone will see the scores in real-time, on their own devices. This makes it easy to hand-off scoring responsibilities after a few holes, let each player track stats for themselves (if desired), and ensures that everyone can check scores as the round progresses without the need for a paper scorecard.
Update UDisc to the latest version. Make sure you show up to the course with the latest version of UDisc. Open your app store and search for UDisc and make sure there are no pending updates. We're constantly pushing updates to improve the league scoring experience, so it's important you keep UDisc up to date.
Pro Tip: turn on automatic updates for UDisc in your App Store to make sure you always have the latest version.
Make sure you're logged in to your UDisc account. Open UDisc and check the Profile tab. If you see an orange CREATE ACCOUNT or LOG IN button, you are not logged in. Please tap that button to log in or create a free account before you arrive at your league.
At least one person in each group must keep score in UDisc. This ensures that every player is accounted for on the UDisc leaderboard, and greatly reduces the time it takes your league director to tally scores.
Check In. Find the League in the UDisc app, under the Events tab. Events are sorted by how close they are to your location, so most of the time your league will be on the very top. Tap on the league or search for the name of the league if you don't see it. Then, tap the Check In button.
If another player does not have a phone, tap the Players button from the league event page. This takes you to a list of players in the league. From here, you can tap Add New Player, and then Create New Account to quickly create and check them in.
If requested, Enter your full first and last name during the check-in. It's important to use your real name so people viewing the leaderboard know who you are.
Coordinate with your cardmates during check-in. After you are all checked in, one person only should tap the CREATE SCORECARD button on the Events tab to start keeping score. Make sure only one player per group creates the scorecard.
Once the scorecard is created, everyone in your group will get a notification. Unlike "regular" UDisc scorecards, everyone can keep score or follow along in real-time on their own device. This makes scoring much faster, allows players who want stats to track them for themselves, and even allows people at home to follow along live.
Check-In For Someone Else
If a player forgets their smartphone or doesn't have a UDisc account yet, it's easy for anyone else to check them in. There are a few ways to do this - the easiest is to hit CREATE SCORECARD, then tap the + button while you're selecting players from the check in list.
On the next page, you'll see a list of league members, which you can tap to check them in.
If the person you want to check-in isn't listed, tap 'Add New Player', then search for them by UDisc username, email, or PDGA number. If they do not have a UDisc account, create one for them using the 'CREATE NEW ACCOUNT' button. The only information you'll need to create an account is username, email, and full name for showing on the leaderboard.
Add or Remove Players from Scorecards
If a player needs to be added to or removed from your scorecard after it was created, tap the menu button in the top right corner of the scorecard and choose Add / Remove Player. Do not create a new scorecard!
HOW TO SET STARTING HOLE & ADD HANDICAPS:
Once you have selected the players on your card from the check in list, scroll to the bottom of that page where you selected players. Under "Options" select "STARTING HOLE" and select the hole you are starting on.
Right below that you will see "STARTING SCORES", select that and you will see a pop up with your cardmates names with a plus and minus sign next to each name. Hit the minus button until you arrive at the correct number for that persons handicap.
EXAMPLE: Joe Discgolf has a handicap of 7, you would push the minus button next to Joe's name until until it showed -7. Do this for each player with a handicap. If a person has no handicap yet, do nothing at their name.
View Live Scores
UDisc provides live scoring and real-time leaderboards for your League. You can view the current leaderboard by tapping the Leaderboard button in the scorecard, or by opening the Events tab in UDisc and tapping View Leaderboard.
If you want to view live scores from a computer or share the live leaderboard with friends, tap the LEADERBOARD button on top of the scorecard. Then, tap the blue Share button to send the link to friends or post on social media. They can also visit UDisc.com/leagues to find your league and follow along.
